Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog- ARD TOS, GAD Focal Person, Department of Science and Technology Region 02 (DOST 02) member of the DOST-Wide GAD Speaker’s Bureau paved the way in mentoring members of the GAD Focal Point System of Department of Education Region 02 (DepEd 02) on Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) and Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) last January 07-08, 2021 via zoom platform.
A total of 42 DepEd GFPS members from their Regional Office and 9 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) were trained especially on Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines to ensure participation of men and women to DepEd’s Programs Activities and Projects (PAPs).
This is with regards to Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST 02 Regional Director way of shepherding other member agencies of the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC-2) as its Chairperson to intensify GAD Mainstreming in Region 02.
Part of the lecture is on Gender Sensitivity and the importance of Gender-Responsive PAPs and the relevance of GAD Attributions in GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and GAD Accomplishment Report (GAR).
Meanwhile, Dr. Dennis John M. Espinoza, Education Program Supervisor of the Field Technical Assistance Division- Regional GAD Focal Person of DepEd RO2 emphasized that the ultimate goal of the regular application of Gender Analysis tool is to make GAD integral part of the mainstream processes and systems of government agencies. “This is to ensure that the impact of government programs is equally enjoyed by the Juanas and Juans alike”, he added.
Program Managers, Planning and Budget Officers of DepEd also participated actively in the 2-Day training to ensure quality HGDG score for their PAPs for GPB and GAR.
